Document Title 1Simon Leach graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 1992 winning the Alice Shawcross organ award and First prize in the RNCM Prix Scarbo.  He studied the organ with Gordon Stewart, piano with David Lloyd and harpsichord with David Francis.  He also had some lessons in Paris with Naji Hakim and Daniel Roth.  From 1992-1994 Simon was organ scholar at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King.  

Since leaving Liverpool Simon has pursued a freelance career in the North West.  He is a visiting organ and piano tutor at The Manchester Grammar School, Withington Girls' School and St Bede's College.

He has performed with the Halle, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, the London Festival Orchestra and the Northern Chamber Orchestra.

Recent solo recitals have included Westminster Cathedral and Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities. Simon made his American debut at St Patrick's Cathedral in New York.

He has worked with many eminent soloists including Dame Kiri Te Kanawa , who he accompanied on her Great British Tour.  Simon is the Organist at St Mary’s Metropolitan Cathedral in Edinburgh
