Cathy began her career as a violinist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she combines freelance performance with teaching in a wide variety of contexts. Cathy has taught violin and viola, coached chamber music and directed string ensembles in a range of maintained, independent and public schools as well as at Primary Royal Academy of Music. Cathy's pupils have gone on to join the National Children's Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra and have studied music at both university and conservatoire.
