Clifford Evans A.R.A.M., L.R.A.M, Cert. Ed. studied at The Royal Academy of Music London, the St. Petersburg Conservatoire and the Birmingham Conservatoire. He was a professional pianist for 12 years including several appearances at Snape Maltings, The South Bank, Radio and TV. Appearances abroad included Schloss Leopoldskron where the Sound of Music was filmed. He withdrew from concert work to concentrate on teaching and family matters and was Head of Music at a comprehensive school for 5 years. He has 40 years experience of giving piano lessons including teaching at the Royal Academy of Music, the Colchester Institute and Culford School Bury St Edmunds. He is well known for for his versatility with teaching skills and in addition to the usual advanced students, particularly enjoys giving piano lessons to adult beginners who present with zero knowledge at any time of life.
He is author of the distance-learning course, Learning the Piano with Clifford Evans which has been well received and has sold in 20 countries. As a piano teacher he has made good pianists out of many people who thought they had passed the opportunity by as well as helping many young people enter the music profession in a variety of capacities.
